Hey everybody, I’m going to make this as fast as possible since I’ll be leaving for the airport in about an hour.
I of course made it out of Nanjing, but only just barely. Nanjing (and several parts of China) are having a record breaking winter that is making travel to many places impossible. It took 2 hours to get to the airport on an ice covered back road (the police closed the highway, it usually takes about 45 minutes) and once we got there our flight had been cancelled but we were put on another one leaving an hour later that had been delayed. Once we made it out of Nanjing everything was fine. Our flight left from Beijing without any problems. In fact it was actually pretty good because with the delay of our Nanjing flight, we walked right through the Beijing airport and right onto the plane without having to wait around at all.
I’ve been in New York for … I’m not sure how many days. I’m having a great time although the jet lag hit me pretty hard on Monday. I’m slowly recovering, I made it through yesterday without too much coffee and yawning. Today I leave for Arkansas and I’ll post more when I get there.
